The Star, Lost Forever

Have you ever befriended the stars?
Among them, I found one
shining, astonishing, beyond all the rest

Each night, it comes quietly
as if to check on me
Among millions, my heart chose that one star
no matter how near or far
Every night, in its light
we seem to fly across the sky

I long to steal its heart
to keep it safe forever
Sometimes it appears sometimes it fades

yet I never want to lose it
I feel beyond this world
whenever I see that radiant star
My heart weeps in silence

when it disappears so softly
Even if the world forgets its glow
my heart never will
I pretend to be indifferent
but deep inside, I want nothing else

when it is near
The world feels empty
when I see it less
I ignore the entire galaxy
one star is enough for me

My heart grows light
whenever it shines at night
And if it is not beside me
I cast the world aside

There is only one fear I carry
that I might lose it in everything
I love it endlessly
though it may sound foolish
My love is pure

yet perhaps it will never be returned
And suddenly,
my life feels lonely.
